The Rasmus is a rock band from Finland. In fact, they are one Finland's most successful bands with more than 3.5 million sold albums worldwide, eight Gold Awards and five Platinum Awards. It wasn’t until 2004 though that The Rasmus enjoyed international fame with their breakout album, “Dead Letters”, which was followed by the impressive sixth record, “Hide from the Sun”. This September the band will release their seventh LP, “Black Roses”, which was co-produced by acclaimed songwriter Desmond Child (Aersmith, Bon Jovi, KISS, Meat Loaf, etc). The lead single off of “Black Roses” is “Livin’ in a World Without You” which could be my favorite song by the band yet—although the acoustic version is arguably even better… Sound-wise, The Rasmus is an addictive blend of goth, new wave and alternative rock with strong pop sensibilities. Think Linkin Park meets Depeche Mode meets H.I.M./Evanescence. Don’t take my word for it though. Check out “Livin’ in a World Without You”:

Wow. That's absolute crap. Could we NOT have music links on the Fantasy BOOK Critic website?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, well if you read the previous posts you would have learned that before Fantasy Book Critic, I worked in the music industry as an A&R scout and in publicity. So, music is in my blood as much as reading and writing ;)
ReplyDeleteThat said, the songs I post are just songs that I personally enjoy. Love it or hate it, that's up to you. All I'm doing is sharing some tunes...
