James Hogan: Master of Political Hard SF Dies at 69

Yesterday night I found out from Locus Online that:

"British author James P. Hogan, 69, died in his home in the Republic of Ireland on July 12, 2010. The cause of death has not yet been determined. Hogan, a hard SF writer, won three Seiun Awards and two Prometheus Awards. Hogan is best known for the Minervan Experiment or Giants series, beginning with debut novel Inherit the Stars (1977) and continuing with The Gentle Giants of Ganymede (1978), Giants’ Star (1981), and Entoverse (1991)."

The complete list of his published novels is HERE and perusing it, I realized that I have read and enjoyed some 13 of the books there, most recently his possibly last published one Migration which I have reviewed several months ago.

I was really looking forward to more James Hogan novels in the future but it's not to be. Very sad and tragic news...
