The Hedge Knight II: The Sworn Sword out Wednesday! And more books for pre-order at The Signed Page
Just a reminder that on Wednesday, June 20, Dabel Brothers Productions / Marvel is releasing issue one of The Sworn Sword, a sequel to the acclaimed mini-series "The Hedge Knight" (2003), an adaptation of George R. R. Martin’s novella of the same name which serves as a prequel to his New York Times Best-Selling epic fantasy series, A Song of Ice and Fire. The Hedge Knight II: The Sworn Sword features the same creative team of Mike S. Miller and Ben Avery (The Hedge Knight) and will run six issues, with #1 sporting a variant cover by Leinil Yu (Wolverine, New Avengers) as well as a sketch variant of the Mike Miller cover.
“Taking place in the realm of Westeros roughly 100 years before the events of A Song of Ice and Fire, The Hedge Knight II: The Sworn Sword continues the adventures of young knight Dunk and his squire Egg who have taken service under Ser Eustace Osgrey of Standfast, a bitter old man whose family once ruled the land of Coldmoat. But after Ser Eustace's other sworn sword makes a poor choice and angers Lady Rohanne Webber of Coldmoat, Dunk is caught in a clash between nobles, and forced to choose whether he will abandon his honor for his principles... or find a way to stand for both…”
Be sure to pick this up once it’s released, and also visit the Dabel Brothers Website or a participating comic book retailer for more information regarding “Westeros Wednesday”, your chance to become immortalized as a comic book character!!!
Over at The Signed Page, Shawn has set up a couple of pretty cool signed editions. First, both Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson will be signing copies of “Sandworms of Dune”, the concluding volume in the classic Dune universe, which is based directly on Frank Herbert's final outline and is due in stores August 7, 2007 (Tor). You can pre-order the signed editions HERE.
Then there’s Elizabeth Haydon, author of The Symphony of Ages fantasy epic, who’s agreed to sign copies of her first two young adult novels in the The Lost Journals of Ven Polypheme series: “The Floating Island” (2006) and “The Thief’s Queen Daughter”, which comes out next week on June 26, 2007. For more information regarding those signed copies, click HERE.
