Winners of the Chris Evans/A Darkness Forged in Fire Giveaway! PS Publishing News + Thomas M. Disch (RIP)
Congratulations to Jessica Davidson (Virginia), Kathy Bruins (Michigan), Derek Davenport (Canada), Valerie Mabrey (Ohio) and Heather Blume (Minnesota) who were all randomly selected to win a SIGNED COPY of Chris Evans’ debut novel, “A Darkness Forged in Fire”, thanks to Pocket Books!!! “A Darkness Forged in Fire” is officially out TODAY :) For more information on the title and the author, please read Fantasy Book Critic’s review of “A Darkness Forged in Fire” HERE and an interview with Chris Evans HERE, or visit the Official Iron Elves Website.
In news, PS Publishing just announced two interesting novellas that are forthcoming. One is called “Revolvo” (Preorder HERE + HERE)—a 30,000-word everyday tale of octopids, neanderthals and cigarettes—by Malazan author Steven Erikson. The other is “Vault of Deeds” (Preorder HERE + HERE) by James Barclay (Raven Chronicles/Legends, The Ascendants of Estoria). Not much is revealed about either novella, but they will both be available in two different editions—300 signed jacketed hardcover copies (£25 / $50) and 500 unsigned unjacketed hardcover copies (£10 / $20)—and they will both be launched at this year’s FantasyCon, which will be held from September 19-21. If only I lived in the UK…
Lastly, as you may or may not have heard, award-winning author/poet Thomas M. Disch committed suicide on July 4, 2008 (Click HERE for more information). Before writing up the July 2008 Spotlight, I had never even heard of Mr. Disch before, but any death is tragic. Rest in peace Thomas M. Disch…
