This month Robert Thompson provided most of the book titles with additions by Cindy Hannikman, Liviu Suciu and Mihir Wanchoo. We are featuring 60 books. This month there were considerably more new sff releases but we tried to limit ourselves to a reasonable number and we chose the books most in tune with what's reviewed here.
The release dates are US unless marked otherwise and the books are first edition unless noted differently. The dates are on a best known basis so they are not guaranteed; same about the edition information. Since information sometimes is out of date even in the Amazon/Book Depository links we use for listings, books get delayed or sometimes even released earlier, we would truly appreciate if you would send us an email about any listing with incorrect information.
Sometimes a cover image is not available at the time of the post and also sometimes covers change unexpectedly so while we generally use the Amazon one when available and cross check with Google Images, the ultimate bookstore cover may be different.

This month has two major new releases for me Cold Magic and House on Durrow Street with of course the US release of Salute the Dark (rv done), all these 3 being contenders for my top fantasy of 2010.
The big unknown is Quantum Thief which sounds very interesting, but I did not like that much the author's short stories I tried, so I am waiting for an extended excerpt to decide if to order it on publication or not.
Guardians of Paradise which I should have by Thursday and Empire which I just got are two more potential major books and both will have asap reviews, though probably only in the second full September week since I have two more major August books reviews also.
Other September reviews from me will be the Crown of the Blood and Spring Heeled Jack (both read a while ago) and then depends on how things go since there are more July/August/indies books I may want to review also, but Spy Glass and possibly Will Power should have a review at some point
More unknowns with potential for me are the Silverwood, Rogers and E. Brown books, while the D. Weber book is a try though based on the short story which underlies it, it may the first Weber book I do not care that much for, though i am pretty sure Robert will review it as he will Antiphon and Dreadnought at the least
We have reviews of the Kent and Tidhar book and despite having vampires, I will give a try to the Meydan translation when published
Spirit Thief is ok'ish but not on par with say Lex Trent Against the Gods to which it has some resemblance.
Of course Cindy and Mihir have their favorites here and probably we will see reviews of the Estep, Andrews, Barrett, Wells, Turner books among others too.

So it looks like I'll have a busy month with new releases alone, and I still have quite a few books from August that should be arriving soon (Black Prism).
Game of Cages should be in the August post and most likely will have a review at some point since Mihir is a big fan of the author - the Amazon date is Aug 31 - though I admit I cut the McGuire book from Robert's (much bigger) list since I saw no reviews/no interest from any of us here...
There are some really good looking books being released this month. I'm really excited to read them (and read reviews on them).

Ah, you're correct about Game of Cages.
As for McGuire, she seems well liked in the UF circles, don't care if it's listed or not myself, but probably worth mentioning in that regard.
Will look forward to your other reviews to see what else will be worth checking out.
Oh, and I finished Salute the Dark the other day. Quite awesome.
I have Boneshaker on my shelf staring at me, so Dreadnought might also be picked up.
Also interested in that Meydan book (shame about the book title in my opinion), but it seems like it might share a similar vampire political structure as in Vampire Empire from what I can tell.
Sarah: Thank you for your kind words; Robert comes up as in the past with a big list and with some few additions from the rest of us, I try and pick whatever is the most in tune and stay around 60 books
B: Tor asked me about an arc for the Meydan book but I would not commit to read/review so I declined and I will check it out on publication; depending on writing/translation I may like it since yes it sounds like the Greyfriar novel I liked, but also like Empire of Fear by B. Stableford from a while ago way before the vampire craze of today, which was a novel I enjoyed tremendously at the time.
The books here I'm most interested in are Ken Scholes’ Antiphon (based on the first two books, which I very much enjoyed), Lian Tanner’s Museum of Thieves and Hannu Rajaniem’s The Quantum Thief. The Charels Yu and Mark Hodder are "maybes".
This site is a daily stop for me, and it informs much of my book purchasing and reading. Thank you much.
Lindqvist's Harbour and Wells' Mr. Monster strike me as two promising titles to look out for.
