Locus Publisher, Editor and longtime voice of SFF News and Reviews, Charles Brown Dies at 72

In very tragic news, we just found out via Locus Online that Charles Brown the co-founder, publisher and editor of the most influential sff magazine of modern times Locus has just passed away peacefully in his sleep on his way home from Readercon.

Before the explosion in online news, Locus was *the place* where you went to find out sff news and reviews and even today the magazine remains an influential voice in a crowded field.

The Locus Awards instituted in 1971 proved extremely popular with sff aficionados everywhere.

I just heard of it from Holly Black. I´m shocked - I met Charles along with Fred Pohl and Elizabeth Anne Hull when they came to Brazil in 1989. They were all extremely nice, warm people. Charles´s legacy will endure - but he will be missed.
