The 67th World Science Fiction Convention had just started in Montréal, Canada. Unfortunately, none of us FBC editors could be there (I would go, but last-minute financial issues kept me out of it), but don´t fret: our good friend Cheryl Morgan has created a veritable global network to cover the Worldcon: it´s the Convention Reporter, a site whose main goal is to cover science fiction conventions through a network of volunteers, linked via their blogs/LJs/tweeter accounts, each one giving his/her own vision of the event. There will also be a group of editors to help putting some order in the mix (not cutting anything, just blocking SPAM and making sure that everything is being posted) and, in some cases, even translating reports to their native languages.
That will be my case, as one of the editors. From today on, you can expect daily reports from our main woman and men on Montréal, a jolly bunch among whom you can find Neil Gaiman, Cory Doctorow, Elizabeth Bear, Catherynne M Valente, Irene Gallo, Jay Lake, Marc Gascoigne, Rani Graff, Claude Lalumière and many, many others. Go check it out whenever you want it, there will be plenty of information.
Oh, and regarding the Hugo Awards, expect reviews of the nominees for Best Novel right here, on Fantasy Book Critic.

I am probably headed up there on Friday. I'll make sure to sign up if I have any news to share. Any of the FBC crew want any authors sucker punched?
