In other news, Orbit Books US recently provided an update on their Spring/Summer 2008 catalog. While you can view the full list HERE, I just wanted to highlight a few of the titles that has me really excited:
“The Last Wish” by Andrzej Sapkowski. Release Date: May 1, 2008. “Geralt de Rivia is a witcher. A cunning sorcerer. A merciless assassin. And a cold-blooded killer. His sole purpose: to destroy the monsters that plague the world. But not everything monstrous-looking is evil and not everything fair is good…and in every fairy tale there is a grain of truth…” The international hit that inspired the video game: The Witcher and has been receiving a bunch of great reviews around the blogosphere is coming to the US for the first time…

“Midnight Never Come” by Marie Brennan. Release Date: June 9, 2008. England flourishes under the hand of its Virgin Queen Elizabeth, Gloriana, last and most powerful of the Tudor monarchs. But a great light casts a great shadow. In hidden catacombs beneath London, a second Queen holds court: Invidiana, ruler of faerie England—a dark mirror to the glory above… “A breathtaking novel of intrigue & betrayal set in Elizabethan England; Midnight Never Come seamlessly weaves together history and the fantastic to dazzling effect.”

“Ketos” by Philip Palmer. Release Date: August 11, 2008. In the midst of a bloody civil war between Dolphs—humans who have evolved to survive in the water—and the terrorists known as Terrans, a father and son will find them selves fighting against each other in a battle that will determine the survival of their people… After being blown away by Mr. Palmer’s wild debut “Debatable Space” (Reviewed HERE), I’m really excited to see what the author comes up with next. If the excerpt is any indication, it should be good :)
