We have just learned via Teleread that noted author Eric Flint has recently undergone heart bypass surgery last week. Recent reports from Baen's Bar - login required - are very optimistic suggesting a smooth recovery is in the works.
Eric Flint is the creator and main author of the 163* series and editor of its offshoot magazine Grantville Gazette which form an unique collaborative phenomenon in current sf. He also writes for Jim Baen's Universe and leads a vigorous campaign to enlighten people on the benefits of drm-free electronic publishing. His collaboration with David Weber in the Honor Harrington universe led to Mr. Weber sparing Honor's life in At All Costs the novel that was supposed to end the first part of the series and his next HH novel Torch of Freedom (Nov. 09, Baen) will be the first HH novel to be reviewed here preceded by a full series overview.
We wish Mr. Flint a speedy recovery and a return to full health.
